FCC Terminates TV Translators in Coal Country


BISMARCK, ND — The Federal Communications Commission has been effortlessly catching up on applications and clearing its database of dormant license renewals. Suburban Bismarck communities of Beulah and Hazen North Dakota, were on the list of many television translators deleted for non-activity.

Low-Power (LPTV) translators, K07EZ and K09EZ, owned by the Beulah Chamber of Commerce were terminated, as well as City of Hazen licenses for K07JA, K09JR, and K11QD. In addition, other deletions in Western North Dakota included K42FY in Dickinson, and K44HR in Williston.

In the Fargo area, G.I.G. Inc. outlet KVNJ-LP/2, which acted as a translator of co-owned KCPM/27 in Grand Forks was also terminated.
